July/August 2000

This journal entry will be brief. July and August was very busy. It brought harvest, canning, and much work.

The guy who was supposed to mow and bail the pasture never called and I haven't been able to reach him. I am looking for someone else to do the pasture now, but haven't found anyone yet.

This time of year also brings with it preparation of the new school year. I have done a workshop for families homeschooling children with special needs. We went to a friend's in central AL and gave them a much needed break from their farm and children for the weekend. We went to West Virginia for the Family reunion in July and had a good time. A neighbor fed the animals and kept the farm.

It has been a hectic two months. The harvest has been good, we were able to freeze a good supply of tomatoes and green peppers. We lost most of our peas, carrots, and beets from the drought.
